Foundation Sponsorship Program

As someone familiar with Upshur County, I’m confident you’re aware of the lack of adequate facilities to provide recreational and athletic opportunities for all the citizens of Upshur County. I’m also confident you’re aware adequate recreational facilities can often provide a key component in furthering the County’s economic development and quality of life. To this end, a group of dedicated volunteers has joined together to form Upshur County Recreation Complex, Inc., a 501(c)3 non-profit organization aimed at creating and operating a recreation complex to provide recreational opportunities for all citizens of Upshur County. The Organization was formed to create a recreation complex with three primary goals in mind:

providing athletic and recreational opportunities for the County’s citizens,
providing an integral component in the enhancement of economic development opportunities in the County, and
providing an enhancement to the quality of life for the residents of Upshur County.

As I’m sure you’ll agree, these three components are critically important in ensuring the continued growth, wellness and prosperity of Upshur County.

Our Organization is comprised of individuals who are dedicated to the mission. As I’m sure you’re aware, there have been attempts in the past to generate momentum and create such a facility. In our opinion, these other attempts have failed to gain momentum because they lost sight of the simple truth that great things can be accomplished when people come together for a common good. The previous attempts have been too reliant on a “government will provide” mentality. Our effort is different because one of the fundamental building blocks of our development model is the full engagement of the community. Our Board of Directors truly believe in the undeniable power of strong partnerships and the ability of individuals to achieve great things when they are united in purpose.

As I’m sure you’re aware, the development of an exceptional recreation complex will require a significant amount of capital investment in order to come to fruition. We are currently in the early stages of our first capital fundraising campaign. For this first campaign, we have established a campaign goal of $650,000. Once this goal is met, the funds raised will be used to complete the property acquisition and begin the next phase of development. While any contribution will be sincerely appreciated, we hope you’ll consider joining the Upshur County Recreation Complex Foundation Sponsorship Program. Upshur County Recreation Complex, Inc. is recognized as a public charity under Section 501(c)3 of the Internal Revenue Code and contributions to the non-profit may be tax deductible. You may need to consult your tax professional to determine deductible contribution limits.

The Foundation Sponsorship Program is a way for our Board of Directors to formally, and permanently, recognize the donors who provide the initial significant contributions which will be instrumental in creating the Upshur County Recreation Complex. The Foundation Sponsorship Program is divided into the following contribution levels:

Platinum Level Sponsor - $100,000 and Up

Recognition as a Platinum Level Sponsor on the Foundation Monument to be located at the entrance of the Complex;
Recognition on the Upshur County Recreation Complex Website Homepage;
First right to purchase advertising space at the Complex at a 50% discounted rate;
Four complimentary tickets to all Upshur Recreation Complex fundraising events upon request;

Gold Level Sponsor - $50,000 to $99,999

Recognition as a Gold Level Sponsor on the Foundation Monument to be located at the entrance of the Complex

Second right to purchase advertising space at the Complex at a 25% discounted rate
Two complimentary tickets to all Upshur County Recreation Complex fundraising events upon request

Recognition as a Silver Level Sponsor on a plaque on the Supporter Wall to be located at the entrance of the Complex

One complimentary ticket to all Upshur County Recreation Complex fundraising events upon request
